Play it Again Sam (1972)
Country: US
Technical: col/scope 86m
Director: Herbert Ross
Cast: Woody Allen, Diane Keaton, Jerry Lacy, Susan Anspach, Tony Roberts
Synopsis:
A divorced film fan despairs of ever taking another woman out, but gets help from his indulgent friends and the spirit of Humphrey Bogart.
Review:
A delight for film buffs, and cleverly framed by two versions of the airfield scene from Casablanca, Allen's stage success makes satisfactory cinema, even if the revue-like elements feel a bit more tacked-on than usual. It was his first pairing with Keaton and the chemistry is tangible.
