The Plague of the Zombies (1966)
Country: GB
Technical: col 91m
Director: John Gilling
Cast: André Morell, John Carson, Diane Clare
Synopsis:
In eighteenth century Cornwall the aristocracy is behind certain voodoo practices that turn the local populace into undead slaves.
Review:
One of the best Hammers, with excellent colour and make-up, an eerie dream sequence, and a protagonist (Morell) who is neither a crackpot nor a Van Helsing, simply an ordinary bloke. The ending is rather perfunctory, and don't expect a zombie film, but it is a superior production nevertheless.
