Red Heat (1988)
Country: US
Technical: col 104m
Director: Walter Hill
Cast: Arnold Schwarzenegger, James Belushi, Peter Boyle
Synopsis:
A Russian police officer travels to Chicago to apprehend the drug lord who killed his partner. Tough and uncompromising, he must team up with a slouchy, foulmouthed CPD detective.
Review:
Essentially 48 Hrs again, with Belushi cast in the Murphy role when he could have played either, opposite a co-star who cannot do much at all. All the violent elements are there: a hotel shoot-up, a bus chase, a brutal escape and a point-blank final confrontation. Cynical high-concept entertainment from a director at home with profane Manichean conflict.
