Requiem (2005)
Country: GER
Technical: col 92m
Director: Hans-Christian Schmid
Cast: Sandra Hüller, Burghart Klaussner, Imogen Kogge
Synopsis:
A girl with epilepsy from a strict Christian family determines to go to study in the city in spite of her repressive mother's opposition. She makes a go of it thanks to her friends, but is overtaken by visions of voices and demons stopping her from praying.
Review:
Based on a true story of rural exorcism culminating in death, this is a low-key affair, brilliantly acted but only likely to inflame non-believers still further towards anti-clericalism.
