Sabata (1969)
Country: IT
Technical: col/scope 111m
Director: Frank Kramer (Gianfranco Parolini)
Cast: Lee Van Cleef, William Berger, Franco Ressel
Synopsis:
An unlikely alliance between a gunfighter, a drifter and a banjo player is convened to stop corrupt individuals in a Texan town from buying up land earmarked for the railroad with stolen money.
Review:
Van Cleef's bread and butter after the Leone films was a series of projects concerning troubleshooters such as this one. He here sports a baroque collection of gadgetry and weaponry, another has a concealed weapon in his banjo, etc. It approaches therefore the violent buffoonery of a Flint or a Bond.
