Saint Jack (1979)
Country: US
Technical: col 115m
Director: Peter Bogdanovich
Cast: Ben Gazzara, Denholm Elliot, James Villiers, Peter Bogdanovich
Synopsis:
An American hustler in seventies Singapore works up from smalltime pimping to running a brothel for U.S. soldiers on R & R.
Review:
Except that for a pimp he's too good to be true (which is the point, I suppose), Gazzara gives a personable impression of a likeable guy, ably supported by his co-stars. A film full of humanity, in all its forms, but perhaps too short on incident to make much of a splash.
