Sea of Love (1989)
Country: US
Technical: col 112m
Director: Harold Becker
Cast: Al Pacino, Ellen Barkin, John Goodman
Synopsis:
A woman is killing men she meets through the lonely hearts ads, and a cop places an ad himself to track her down.
Review:
Tense and erotic thriller along the lines of Cruising but comparing itself to Fatal Attraction in its high concept marketing: the cop deserves what he gets when the woman for whom he falls just might turn out to be his quarry. Pacino is a deadbeat drunken cop, making something of a comeback after the débâcle of Revolution, but this is far from being a complete return to form. For that we would have to wait for Scent of a Woman.
