Incredibly brave of Hill/Universal to put on film Kurt Vonnegut's cerebral novel. The film is, like Catch 22, a folie de grandeur, full of ideas, and with the budget to give them impressive visual clothing; thus, what you get is not the book but a guided tour of it.
