Small Time Crooks (2000)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: Technicolor 95m
Director: Woody Allen
Cast: Woody Allen, Tracey Ullman, Elaine May, Hugh Grant, Jon Lovitz

Synopsis:

An ex-con hatches a plan to rob a bank by drilling a tunnel from under a rented shop, but the front business afforded by his wife's cookies proves to be more successful.

Review:

A harking back to old territory (Take the Money and Run), but edged with a misanthropic disdain for the characters common to more recent works such as Celebrity. Allen's role is for once less an image of what he would like to be than of what he derides, Ullman sports an impressive New Jersey accent but neither is as affecting as Elaine May's slow-witted cousin.
