Country: US
Technical: col/2.35:1 127m
Director: Rupert Sanders
Cast: Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Sam Claflin

Synopsis:

Wicked Queen Ravenna seduces and kills Snow White's father and takes over her kingdom, imprisoning her in a high tower Eventually she escapes her stepmother's bloodlust, just in time, but must survive the enchanted forest and the huntsman sent after her.

Review:

More or less a retelling of the fairy story for the Game of Thrones era, complete with bloodletting and a frisson of perversion. It's all handsomely presented, if a little overstretched, and the dwarves arrive very late in the day. The twist whereby the huntsman is the alpha male in the story is pleasingly handled.
