The biblical story is modified slightly (Lot goes willingly to Sodom) and all the unnatural practices are taken out, but the British censor slapped an 'X' on it anyway, just to be safe. Aldrich seems a strange choice to direct this late-in-the-day biblical epic; a lusty Italian might have laced a bit more sex through its 150 minutes.
