Son of Kong (1933)
Country: US
Technical: bw 69m
Director: Ernest B. Schoedsack
Cast: Robert Armstrong, Helen Mack
Synopsis:
Carl Denham, the showbiz impresario behind the journey to Skull Island in King Kong (also 1933), returns to the island to find a smaller ape, whose trust he gains.
Review:
Very much rushed out on the back of Kong's roaring success, this is a pale imitation in most senses: twelve-foot ape, inferior animation, no Fay Wray, etc. However, it packs in the monsters and an earthquake for good measure, and moves along at a merry old pace.
