Spider-Man 2 (2004)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/2.35:1 127m
Director: Sam Raimi
Cast: Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Alfred Molina, James Franco, Donna Murphy

Synopsis:

Peter Parker's hectic life as a superhero is getting in the way of his part-time work, his studies and his relationships, but when he meets a brilliant physicist as part of his dissertation research he is brought closer to resolving the clash of priorities ruling his existence.

Review:

Very much a sequel in the sense that it picks up the relationships of the first film where it left them: the bereaved aunt, the girlfriend who cannot be, the friend who is also the son of his former nemesis. Unfortunately Molina's flawed visionary adds nothing new to the fantasy spectrum and the attempt to introduce further suspense by mysteriously withdrawing, and later restoring, Parker's special powers lacks conviction because it goes unexplained. At least we end with his identity no longer a mystery and M-J securely ensconced as his enamorata.
