Static (1985)
Country: US
Technical: col 93m
Director: Mark Romanek
Cast: Keith Gordon, Amanda Plummer
Synopsis:
A teenager in a small town tries to contact his dead parents through a television he has constructed which can 'tune in to Heaven'.
Review:
An original film with small-town atmosphere well carried (the hero is not the only eccentric and everyone knows everyone else) and a proselytic zeal evinced by Gordon. Alas any treatment that hinges on a visualisation of paradise is doomed to disappoint, however much it decides to show us.
