Steptoe & Son (1972)
Country: GB
Technical: col 98m
Director: Cliff Owen
Cast: Wilfrid Brambell, Harry H. Corbett, Carolyn Seymour
Synopsis:
Harold brings a stripper home with the intention of making her his wife, much to the fury of his dad, who foresees that he will be left to fend for himself.
Review:
First big screen outing for the ten-year old TV comedy half-hour about two junk dealers, embracing the opportunity to be more permissive. That's just the problem: it all seems so tacky up there in colour and, as always with these things, the longer format implies a different approach to narrative the original concept cannot sustain. 'Ride Again' followed in 1973.
