Synopsis:
Family members converge for the anniversary of the death of an older sibling at the house of the ageing parents. Among them are a son whose father has never forgiven him for surviving his brother, and a daughter who wants to move in with the parents with her family to save money.

Densely detailed family study in the manner of Tokyo Story, but with updated trappings: the son has married a widowed single mother, the father is an unsympathetic, self-deluding and self-important retired doctor who fails even to take the pulse of a stricken neighbour. Slow-moving but rewarding.
