Strictly Ballroom (1992)

£0.00

Country: AUS
Technical: col 94m
Director: Baz Luhrmann
Cast: Paul Mercurio, Tara Morice

Synopsis:

A young contender for the Pan Pacific dance championships defies the Federation and risks everything on dancing his own steps, thanks to a plucky beginner who persuades him to be her partner.

Review:

Everything is writ large in this refreshing (at the time) fantasy, and the brashness and colour can get a bit wearing after a while. However, it does strike out successfully at that dread in most people's lives, of missing a once-only opportunity and repeating the mistakes of one's forbears.
