Super Size Me (2004)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 100m
Director: Morgan Spurlock
Cast: doc.

Synopsis:

A documentarist brought up on home cooking determines to investigate the correlation between mushrooming obesity figures in the US by eating nothing but MacDonalds for thirty days and having a team of physicians and dieticians closely track his body's response. The results confound even the most pessimistic prognostications of his GP.

Review:

Almost as grim and unappetising to watch as to enact, Spurlock's self-inflicted physical abuse at times smacks of hubris (one feels he's made his point after 21 days) but there is no challenging his sound motives, or the engaging, uncombative way in which he sets about pursuing his dubious goal.
