The Star Boarder (1914)
Country: US
Technical: bw 10m
Director: George Nichols
Cast: Charles Chaplin, Minta Durfee, Edgar Kennedy
Synopsis:
In a boarding house, the laziest and least considerate of the guests can do no wrong in the eyes of the landlady, who carries on with him behind her husband's back, but does not escape the lens of her mischievous son's box brownie.
Review:
Not Chaplin's most appealing character creation, but at least this whips along and has a story to it. The delight on the face of Gordon Griffith, who plays the little boy, as he presents his magic lantern show to the guests, is something to behold.
