Taken 2 (2012)
Country: FR
Technical: col/2.35:1 98m
Director: Olivier Megaton
Cast: Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace, Famke Janssen
Synopsis:
The Albanian relatives of Mills's victims in Taken set out for revenge, and get their chance when he is joined in Istanbul by his wife and daughter.
Review:
Producer Luc Besson strikes another blow for Franco-Albanian relations and trashes another European capital in this first sequel in the Bourne-imitation franchise. It is all very derivative and time-passing, and Megaton earns his name in subtlety as he hammers away with sixty set-ups per minute, rendering most of the dialogue barely audible. Istanbul rarely looked better, but it beggars belief that the Mills daughter can move around the city letting off hand-grenades and that Mills himself is let loose back on the streets after shooting an inspector of police.
