Tarzan and His Mate (1934)
Country: US
Technical: bw 105m
Director: Cedric Gibbons
Cast: Johnny Weissmuller, Maureen O'Sullivan, Paul Cavanagh
Synopsis:
Tarzan and Jane Parker live in idyllic tranquility in the jungle, until an expedition gathering ivory arrives to take her back home to civilization.
Review:
MGM's second Tarzan film came in for some stick from the Production Code on account of Jane's skimpy two-piece, which incidental interest aside this is the last of the great Tarzan films before Hollywood domesticated them. Hideous native executions, blood-curdling screams, and of course sex, it's all here.
