Tell No One (2006)
(Ne le dis à personne)
Country: FR
Technical: col/scope 131m
Director: Guillaume Canet
Cast: François Cluzet, Marie-Josée Croze, André Dussollier, Kristin Scott-Thomas, Nathalie Baye, Jean Rochefort
Synopsis:
A doctor marries his childhood sweetheart and all is well; then one night she is killed as they spend time together at their trysting place. Years later he is contacted by emails from a source portending to be her; at the same time the police re-open the case. But they are not alone in showing a new, and ruthless, interest in what exactly became of his wife.
Review:
Pretty satisfying mystery thriller, whose explanation is as always a mixture of the mundane and the incredible but which sustains itself so well with a tight pace and visceral performances that you don't mind the one or two flaws in the plotting. It features a road accident which, in its seamless digital trickery, out-trumps the equally arresting one in Adaptation.
