Twelfth Night (1996)
Country: GB/US
Technical: col 133m
Director: Trevor Nunn
Cast: Imogen Stubbs, Helena Bonham Carter, Toby Stephens, Ben Kingsley, Richard E. Grant, Nigel Hawthorne, Mel Smith
Synopsis:
When their ship is lost at sea a twin brother and sister believe one another dead, and in finding each other settle both and old quarrel and a hopeless suit.
Review:
A play which should be a gift for decent actors such as these is rendered inaudible by an unforgivably poor soundtrack and slipshod delivery. One or two felicitous moments survive but the laughs fall oddly flat.
